(This is an example I found from another site, it's a little descriptive[though not much] but leaves the creator of the character species they want)
-Species list-
Humans: Humans are supposedly the "top species"... or so they think they are. (I think all of us know what a human is, right

Elves: Elves are very similar to humans and share the most in common. They look the same in appearance but have pointed ears. Elves are very agile and intelligent. they are excellent with archery and have the top archery skill of all species. They are very in-tune with nature.
Fairies: Fairies are small people with butterfly-type wings. They are said to be magical and supposedly they can make others fly with their fairy dust. Fairies are small reaching around 6 inches in height.
Dwarfs: Dwarfs are short people with an average height of 4 feet. They are strong and are great at wielding axes. They tend to get angry easily and are gruff. However once you become friends with one you have a friend for life.
Orcs: Orcs are originally found in the Lord of the Rings series and are made rather than born. Orcs are dirty smelly and ugly creatures. They are dangerous and furiously evil.
Lizard People:
Hobbits: Hobbits are short men with hairy feet.
Centaur: Centaurs are half man half horse. They are great fighters and are typically very headstrong. One reason why they are such great fighters is that they don't need a horse because they're half horse and they are very fast.
Minotaur: Minotaurs are half man half bull. They anger easily and are typically hotheaded. They are very strong and good fighters.
Genet Alta: Genet Alta are winged people. The name is Italian. They typically think of themselves very highly because they look like angels and so they think they are a gift from God. They hold themselves above everyone and usually aren't nice to those "beneath" them.
Gnomes: Gnomes are small and reach a hight of 1 foot when full grown. They're sort of like the sculptures that sit on your lawn because they typically make beautiful gardens and guard them. They put a lot of their life into their gardens. Gnomes have large noses and typically wear hooded cloaks. (if you need an example PM me and ask I'll show you this really cool picture)
Dragon Riders: Dragon Riders are humans with one exception... they have a special bond to a dragon. A dragon rider can understand their dragon and only their dragon. They are the only ones who can understand their dragons. A Dragon Rider must go to the mountains and obtain an egg (Peacefully from the dragon mother because of the treaty.) after that he will care for the egg and bond with the dragon when it hatches. Once he builds a bond to the dragon it cannot be broken. it is as if they share a heart you cannot separate a dragon from its rider without killing them both.
