These are the outer walls of the massive city. They stand one hundred meters high, and serve as a major architectural feat for all of today's civilizations. The walls width is so great, that there is actually housing, shops, and garrisons inside the walls - almost adding another city onto what is already the largest civilized settlement in the world.
