Talam'aran has existed for five thousands years. In this time span, civilizations have risen and fallen, gods have fought over the world and imprisoned each other - but most of all, a link has been made to another world through the long years. This link was created to Earth by the same magic that imprisoned a dark god that had attempted to destroy the world in order to re create it in his own image. The pages in these books detail these events as they took place, in hopes that those who survive with knowledge of this 'world link' will not only be able to receive proper knowledge to reconstruct it fully, but how to combat the dark god as the prisons holding him weaken.
Entry I, Creation
The world was created in the midst of the titan wars, a battle that raged among the gods for thousands of years - a battle that destroyed almost all gods, or imprisoned them permanently in the void. There were supposedly only six who survived out of hundreds, these six are the ones who sought control over Talam'aran - which was created in order to end the war, by making these gods bound to the world. Two alliances were formed during this time, and both fought for certain ideals and appearances of the world. They will be detailed below, briefly.
"Zacarume"
Literal translation: The Light
This alliance consisted of Soeph, Algarand, and Kildred. The trio sought for the life that had been created to flourish, and in doing so; gained the upper hand against the so called 'forces of evil'. Being bound to the world from ancient magics that preceded them, their intentions were directly in line with those that had been intended, and they were allowed a more direct role over the lives of the living.
"Galnord"
Literal translation: Shadow
Consisting of Drakthul, Myykule, and Oronis; they were much for the opposite of what the 'light' gods wanted. Their intention was to recreate the world in their own image, and rule over it as kings. Because of these immoral intentions, they were granted a much lesser role in the world - and were not even left to care for the dead. Rather, they were the caretakers of the world - destined to walk upon the world itself and preform menial tasks until they repented for their irresponsibility - though this only occurred with one of them. Oronis eventually managed to ascend back to his former position as a god, and in doing so was granted the responsibility to take care of the dead, and so, is in charge of the transition from life to death - from the worlds to the heavens.
However, there was...another god. Hiding deep within the world was the soon-to-be Dark Lord, Gorgoroth. For three hundred years he waited, until Oronis was restored to power - and then he struck. He disguised himself as Oronis, and destroyed him. Instantly inheriting his responsibility, he found a loop hole in his duties. He was supposed to act in the dead's best interest, to aid them in their journey. As a short sight on the ancient magic, or of Gorgoroth's own doing - we still don't know how he managed it, but he gathered an army against the free nations that had never before been seen in the world.
The Light gods were unable to intervene do to the oaths they had taken. The world was almost helpless against the massive army of dark things, undead only one of the masses that swarmed in the night. Half the world was burned within a month, and as the armies of the free people attempted to resist, the light gods found their own loop hole. They were not allowed to intervene with anyone from Talam'aran, but were not barred from meddling with other worlds. It was then that the link with Earth was made, and the two worlds fates twisted together. The Zacarume called upon a select few from the other world, and gave them abilities that no human should have possessed - and with it, these 'angels' were set upon the armies of the undead. One in particular, took on a name from Tala'maran culture, Ellasair, as his own. He trained incredibly quickly, and lead the assault against the demon armies. At the end of the battle, Ellasair sacrificed himself to imprison Gorgoroth, and in doing so - blocked the link to Earth. The remaining angels that had survived the battle, created the Order of the Zacarume, and spent the next four thousand years protecting the people of the world - but they eventually faded out of existence; they had no one to guide them - and they were children compared with members of several other races.
